Ecco Shoe Repairs:

One of the most popular shoes we have seen lately is Ecco.  Most every one we get in with a pair loves these for their comfort.  Ecco uppers seem to hold up pretty well, and provide a good fit and style for today's consumer. 

Most shoe shops will not touch a pair of Ecco shoes if they require new soles.  The problem here is with the materials.  While extremely comfortable, and fairly durable, once these soles deteriorate, it's HARD to put a new sole on an Ecco.  This material melts when sanded upon, creating a huge mess and traditional gluing methods do not work either.  However, at Hoover Shoe Repair, we have perfected a method of replacing an Ecco sole with a Vibram sole, and once the repair is finished, it's much easier to repair the second and third time around.

Pros: Comfortable and modern.  Good uppers.

Cons: Most repair shops will tell you this shoe is not repairable.  Hard to repair the first time.

Bottom Line:  Not a bad choice if you are looking for something dress-casual, modern, and comfortable.  We are capable of replacing the sole with a top-quality Vibram sole - without sacrificing the comfort and look of the original.
